Heritage in Motion
Since 1970, Prince has redefined tennis with every decade, from the iconic Prince Classic 110 to the advanced ATS Zylon fibers. A brand that has never crafted ordinary rackets.
Explore the HeritageThe Prince Craftsmanship
Since 1970, every decade has seen Prince introduce a patent that reshaped the game. From the very first 110-square-inch racket to aerospace-grade fiber technologies, here are the four pillars that define the brand's technical DNA.
The Oversize Racket
The Prince Classic 110 stands as the world's first oversize racket. Featuring a 110-square-inch headsize, it delivered a radically larger sweetspot than anything before it, making tennis more accessible while permanently transforming competitive play.

The Original Graphite
In 1978, Prince simultaneously launched the world's first graphite racket and the pioneer Synthetic Gut string. The Prince Graphite quickly became the weapon of choice for multiple legendary champions with unmatched records.

The O3 Ports
The O3 ports within the frame reduce air resistance to mechanically boost swing speed. The ACOR (Actual Coefficient of Restitution) measures and optimizes the sweetspot size, while the 2009 EXO3 technology pushes energy transfer to the stringbed even further.

TeXtreme® & ATS Zylon
TeXtreme, an aerospace-grade spread-tow carbon fabric, lightens the frame while multiplying structural stiffness. In 2023, the ATS Zylon technology introduced a fiber 1.6 times stronger than Kevlar, absorbing harsh vibrations for surgical control.

The Racket That Changed Everything
Launched in 1978, the Prince Original Graphite rapidly became the most successful racket in tennis history. The greatest champions all chose it at some point in their careers—a shared trust placed in a single, groundbreaking technology. That same year, Prince also introduced the very first Synthetic Gut string, laying the foundations for a comprehensive approach to tennis equipment that goes far beyond the racket itself.
The History
From Princeton, New Jersey, to courts around the world: fifty years of innovations that have redefined every single component of tennis equipment.
- 1970Foundation
The Birth of Prince
Prince is founded. The brand starts with a clear mission: to rethink tennis equipment from the ground up. Six years later, it changes the history of the sport with its first oversize racket.
- 1976Revolution
The First Oversize
Prince launches the Classic 110: the first-ever racket with a 110-square-inch headsize. A radically larger hitting surface than anything before it, democratizing tennis and redefining industry standards forever.
- 1978Double Innovation
Original Graphite & Synthetic Gut
In a single year, Prince releases two revolutions: the first graphite racket and the premier Synthetic Gut string. The Original Graphite would become the weapon of choice for great tennis legends. That same year, Prince wins the US Open.
- 1980Diversification
Prince Woodie & Double Bridge
The 1980s saw Prince expand its range with the Prince Woodie (1980), the P-200 (1982), and the Double Bridge technology—a frame reinforcement system that improved stability at impact and foreshadowed modern racket architectures.
- 1985Footwear
TPU-4000 — Prince Steps onto the Court
Prince launches the TPU-4000, its very first tennis shoe. The brand moves beyond just rackets, aiming to equip players from head to toe with the exact same technical standards as its frames.
- 1995Innovation
Prince Longbody — The Leverage Revolution
Prince extends its frame to create the Longbody range. A single extra centimeter is enough to mechanically increase swing speed and hitting power. The Triple Threat Technology completes this era in 1999 with an unprecedented management of vibrations.
- 2005Aerodynamics
O3 & EXO3 — The Era of Ports
The O3 technology introduces holes within the frame to reduce air resistance and increase swing speed. In 2006, the O3 Hybrid, followed by the Speedport in 2007, refined the concept. In 2009, EXO3 redefined energy transfer between the frame and the stringbed.
- 2013Spin
ESP — Extreme String Pattern
Prince introduces ESP (Extreme String Pattern), an aggressive string pattern designed to generate up to 30% more spin. A higher trajectory over the net, along with heavier and more penetrating balls.
- 2015Materials
TeXtreme® — The Carbon of the Future
Prince adopts TeXtreme, a spread-tow carbon fabric developed for aerospace and Formula 1. The result in the frame: maximum structural stiffness with minimal weight. Every single gram saved translates into ultimate responsiveness on the court.
- 2023Today
ATS Zylon — The Latest Chapter
The ATS technology integrates Zylon fibers—1.6 times stronger than Kevlar—at strategic points of the frame. Fewer harsh vibrations, perfect stability at impact. Prince continues to write its story, one innovation at a time.

The Prince Commitment
Continuous Innovation
From the Classic 110 in 1976 to the ATS Zylon in 2023, Prince has launched a major technology in every single decade. This is not a simple marketing stance; it is a continuous R&D process deeply rooted in the brand's history.
Extreme Materials
TeXtreme sourced from aerospace, Zylon stronger than Kevlar, Synthetic Gut since 1978: Prince sources its materials from the places where the demands are most extreme.
Validated by Champions
Most of the greatest champions placed their trust in the Prince Original Graphite. This was no superficial sponsorship: it was a technical preference, chosen by players who played to win.
Comprehensive Equipment
Rackets, strings, shoes: Prince has always considered the player as a whole. From the TPU-4000 in 1985 to the Recoil strings in 2008, every single product meets the exact same requirement: delivering concrete performance improvements on the court.
